Welcome

We are warm friendly family oriented church that seeks to follow Jesus and share the good news.

St Polycarp was the first Christian martyr after the days of the new testament. When asked to say “Caesar is Lord” he fiercely replied “For 86 years I have served the Christ and he has done me no wrong” He was burnt alive over a pile of wood as symbolized on our church emblem. Jesus said Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and the gospel will save it”

75th Anniversary of St Polycarp's Church

This year we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of St Polycarp's Church and the 130th Anniversary of Sunday School (now Junior Church) with a series of events throughout the year and a desire to seek God's vision for the next decade.

Let's Celebrate God's Faithfulness on Sunday 22 February 2009 - Bishop Cyril to preach followed by a Bring and Share Meal.

Walk through Holy Week 09

‘It’s the best thing we’ve ever done!’ That was our churchwarden’s reaction to our first Walk through Holy Week. Over 250 children from four local state Junior Schools had come to share in the story of Jesus’ last week. Two things inspired us: the encouragement of Hope 08 to tell the Easter story in the public place and an article ‘Easterfest’ in the Church Army magazine. read more here
